December Links
Like any good December that goes by far too quickly, this month’s links are short and sweet. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
Turning a gingerbread house into a gingerbread home.
Speaking of gingerbread, these cookies look stunning.
I told my best friend, Destiney, about this Cup of Jo post and she said, “It’s like a potluck, but with cookies. I love that!” After reading, I have to bake a batch of these.
So! Many! Book! Lists! Including every book I read this year, as well as the best of 2022.
I read The Korean Vegan for the essays and to bookmark some recipes, and then I read this essay by the same author on her website. I cried more than once. I have a similar story, and maybe, one day, I will write it down.
It has taken me almost a year to read this book. It’s okay to put a book down and come back later, and how did I just now figure that out? I think it’s also impactful to measure how much has changed in Ukraine and in me since I first picked this one up in February.
Finally, a few of my favorite From the Aisle Seat posts from 2022:
Just Fifty Years Ago, the City Was Reduced to Rubble
It Never Feels Like the First Time Again
I Would Do Anything For One More Moment There
This year was one of great transformation. I moved the newsletter here to Substack and took on an entirely different direction to creative writing. If you’re new this year, I promise you would not recognize the older version of From the Aisle Seat. 2022 was an enigma. Thank you for partaking with me.
Until next year, travelers!
